Wiley’s Wish Animal Rescue is a women-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sonoma, Tuolumne, Santa Clara, and Fresno Counties. Since 2021, we’ve rescued over 1,500 at-risk dogs from overcrowded California shelters and placed them in loving homes. Our Paws of Hope program pairs rescue dogs with prison residents, offering a second chance for both. Over 400 dogs have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certifications through this transformative partnership.

Every dog we save—whether a tiny Chihuahua or a towering Great Dane—is trained, loved, and ready to thrive in a forever home. When you adopt from Wiley’s Wish, you’re not just gaining a companion—you’re part of a mission to heal, uplift, and give second chances. Rescue. It does a doggie good.

From high-kill shelters to happy homes.™

We are relentless in our commitment to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and guiding them toward a life of health, hope, and unconditional love. Our journey with each dog begins the moment we pull them from danger. We provide urgent, comprehensive medical care—including vaccinations including Rabies, deworming, bloodwork, fecal/urine testing, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and, when needed, life-saving treatments.

Once healthy, our dogs enter Paws of Hope, a one-of-a-kind rehabilitation and training program that pairs rescue dogs with incarcerated individuals under the guidance of AKC-certified trainers. Over 2–3 months, both dogs and handlers grow—building trust, confidence, and structure. Each dog graduates with their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, ready to thrive in a home.

When they’re ready, we match each dog with a carefully chosen adopter—someone committed to providing a safe, loving, forever home. From forgotten kennels to fulfilled lives, our work is about transformation on both ends of the leash.
